The Arkansas woman who had a child by Hunter Biden out of wedlock testified to a federal grand jury in Delaware as part of a criminal tax probe of the son of President Joe Biden.
Clint Lancaster told CNBC that he gave a lot of Hunter's financial records to federal investigators to comply with a subpoena for those files.
Lancaster said that he and Roberts were interviewed by an assistant U.S. attorney, an FBI agent and an IRS agent about Biden.
The lawyer said he expected Biden to be indicted.
He said that he would be surprised if he wasn't indicted.
Lancaster said that he and his client don't want Hunter to go to jail.
Lancaster, a supporter of former President Donald Trump who in late 2020 worked on a legal challenge, said that his goal was not much to the unhappiness of many people in the Republican Party.
Lancaster said that Biden had not expressed an interest in seeing his daughter with Roberts.
The lawyer said it was sad because the baby looked like him.
Biden, who has worked as a lawyer, business consultant, lobbyist, investor, and most recently as a fine art painter, has denied wrongdoing in his tax affairs.
CNBC reached out to his attorneys about Lancaster's comments. CNBC reached out to the U.S. Attorney's Office for Delaware, which is leading the investigation of Biden.
The White House declined to comment on the case, or on Lancaster's statement that neither Hunter Biden, nor President Biden or any other Biden family member has ever seen the daughter Roberts has.
When asked how many records there were related to Hunter Biden's finances, Lancaster said, "Oh, hell, it was a bunch." Roberts filed a lawsuit against Biden in Arkansas for child support in connection with their daughter.
Lancaster said that they were all in electronic form.
He said that he saw a lot of information for Biden.
Lancaster said he was not making any statements about what was in the tax records, whether he paid taxes or not.

Lawyer for Lunden Alexis RobertThe lawyer spoke on the heels of a New York Times article which reported that Hunter Biden in recent months told an associate he paid federal taxes of more than $1 million in connection with the tax liability that is at least one part of the investigation by the U.S. Attorney.
According to The Times, the probe has expanded to include questions of whether Hunter Biden violated laws related to foreign lobbying and money-laundering.
According to a person familiar with the issue, investigators questioned Roberts a year ago in Arkansas about whether a corporate entity used by Biden to pay her when she lived in Washington, D.C., had received payments from Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company.
Biden was paid about $50,000 per month by Burisma. His father's presidential candidacy gained steam and he stepped down from the company's board.
The child support action against Biden noted that she received money from a company owned or controlled by him.
According to a court record, she never received tax documents for those payments.
The case was settled in January 2020 after Biden agreed to pay child support. Three months after their daughter was born, it was retroactive.
Lancaster said that Roberts traveled to Delaware in February to testify before a grand jury.
The DailyMail.com previously reported that Roberts appeared for a closed-door testimony.
Roberts did not get immunity before she testified, her lawyer told CNBC.
She didn't have a reason to be immunized because she didn't commit a crime.
He said he didn't know what the prosecutor asked Roberts.
Lancaster said that Roberts didn't authorize him to give details to the media about her questioning.
Lancaster wouldn't give investigators any details of the records he gave them. He said that he had Burisma's pay records, and that he had records of what Burisma paid into the United States.
In December 2020, the attorney became aware of the federal criminal investigation into Biden. President Trump and his supporters were still contesting the results of the presidential election even after Joe Biden had won the popular vote.
Lancaster said he received a federal subpoena for the case file of Roberts when he was in Wisconsin.
The judge in the Arkansas case ordered the financial records to be sealed from public view.
The lawyer told Biden's lawyer about the subpoena shortly after it was received.
Lancaster said that Biden issued a statement publicly disclosing that he was under criminal investigation for his tax affairs.
I take this matter very seriously but I am confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally and appropriately, including with the benefit of professional tax advisors, Biden said in that statement.
Biden said in the statement that he had been told about the probe by his own attorney.
The Electoral College confirmed his father's election as president.
Roberts claimed that she had a daughter with Biden in August of last year. He was still in a relationship with Hallie Biden, the widow of Beau Biden. The elder brother died of brain cancer.
Biden married another woman days after knowing Cohen for just six days. Beau was born in March 2020.
Hunter Biden initially denied having sex with Roberts.
In his memoir, Biden said that he had no recollection of his encounter with Roberts that led to the birth of his child.
Roberts said in court papers that he was the father, so he stopped contesting his parentage.
Biden missed an appearance in the case. Biden and his lawyers were criticized by the judge for providing limited financial information as Robert pressed claims for support of their daughter in the face of his argument that he did not have any funds to spare.
The judge threatened to hold Biden in contempt in January 2020. The case was resolved quickly.
At the time, Trump had been impeached by the House of Representatives for asking the President of the country to investigate Joe Biden and Hunter Biden in connection with Hunter.
Joe Biden was the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020 when Trump asked for it.
The Senate acquitted Trump at his trial.
