  • Anna Sorokin doesn't see herself as a con artist.

  • The inspiration for "Inventing Anna" was that she paid her way out of jail.

  • Sorokin said that she will share her story soon.

Anna Sorokin told Alex Cooper that she has a jail assistant who does her laundry.

Cooper asked if Sorokin had picked up a jail mug while he was in jail. Sorokin said, "No, not at all."

She said that if you have money, you don't have to do anything. In the Rikers Island jail where she spent two years before her jury conviction on fraud charges, Sorokin said that you can't do your laundry if you pay someone to wash it.

Cooper asked if you were paying people off in jail to just do your stuff.

Sorokin said, "Yes, absolutely."

She joked that they actually think she is, like, super rich.

Sorokin said she has been buying tablets and phone minutes from other inmates in order to communicate with the outside world.

The convicted scam artist appeared via video chat in 15-minute segments on the show, which was filmed before the news of her deportation to Germany. She was most recently held at the Orange County Correctional Facility in upstate New York. Sorokin has been in the Orange County jail since she was rearrested by ICE six weeks after she was released from the New York prison where she had been held for two years.

In a recent interview, Sorokin discussed why she publicly responded to her former friend Rachel Williams, in 15-minute chunks.

Sorokin also refuted the label of 'con artist' and denied ever telling people she was a German heiress

Sorokin, whose scam inspired the Shonda Rhimes series "Inventing Anna", initially said that she never told anyone she was going to inherit.

No one introduces themselves like that. What kind of sentence is that? She said around the 23:52 mark that it was completely ridiculous. I don't know.

Sorokin said that she probably lied about her family's wealth.

I cannot tell you an exact instance, but I am sure. Unless they were a bank.

Sorokin said she does not consider herself a con artist.

She said that she never intended to harm anyone through her actions and that she thought she was different from a con artist.

I cannot come up with a single example where I would say "let me fuck this person over and they will never see their money again", Sorokin said.
