The new feature in the second preview of the software is that apps will have to ask for your permission to post notifications. I'm happy to see that it's going to be included in the operating system.

It seems as if notifications will need to be requested from the user before they can be posted.

This second preview has a big feature that is related to Low Energy Audio. The Low Complexity Communications Codec (LC3) is an audio codec that can transmit at lower bitrates in higher quality. Better battery life should result from less energy consumption. You can get an idea of how the new codec might sound with an embedded post.

The second preview includes support for the new MIDI 2.0 standard that adds two-way communication, more precise timing, and higher resolution with 32-bit messages that should provide a more analog-like feel.

A new theming option and a system-wide photo picker were shown off in the first preview. We don't recommend you install these previews just yet, because there are probably many bugs still to be worked out. If you're interested in learning more about the upcoming version of the operating system, it's probably a good time to jump in since it's expected to launch around April.
