The Wall Street Journal has learned that the UltraFine 5K external display will be back in stock next month.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the UltraFine 5K is still in production and has not been discontinued, despite rumors that it had been discontinued. The display is out of stock because of component shortages and high demand. The UltraFine 5K will be back in stock on the website of the company as soon as next month.
The UltraFine 5K display was developed by Apple and is the perfect size for a Mac with the ideal 5120 by 2880 resolution and close integration with macOS.
The UltraFine 5K display was removed from the Apple Store after the studio display announcement. Apple stopped selling the UltraFine 5K due to its similarity to the studio display. The UltraFine 5K has the same 27 inch 5K panel with P3 wide color, built-in speakers, a built-in camera, and a single Thunderbolt port that is capable of charging a MacBook, but for a price of $1,299, $300.
The studio display adds a slim aluminum design, an extra 100 nits of brightness, and Center StageFunctionality, but does not come with a height-adjustable stand as standard. The 23.7-inch UltraFine 4K display is available for $699.
Reviews of the Studio Display were released earlier today with a largely negative response, but Apple is rumored to be planning to launch a more high-end 27-inch display with mini-LED technology later this year.
