If you believe Skip Bayless, Tom Brady is trying to get Julio Jones to join the Buccaneers.

Bayless said that someone close to Jones sent him a message on Thursday morning asking him to come on down to the sunshine in Tampa, and let Brady know.

Jones became a free agent on Thursday. The team listed the 33-year-old as a post-June 1 cut, which will save it $9 million in cap space.

Brady's return to the team after a 40-day retirement almost certainly altered the team's plans.

Rather than trying to find a quarterback to replace Brady, the general manager of the Bolts has been able to focus on reloading the roster to support the 44-year-old future Hall of Famer.

Brady will have a receiving corps that has both stars and depth. Mike Evans and Chris Godwin are still with the team.

According to Ian Rapoport of the National Football League Network, the Buccaneers agreed to a three-year, $60 million extension on top of the franchise tag that they initially placed on him.

Rapoport reported that the Buccaneers will sign Russell Gage. Breshad Perriman will re-sign with the team on a one-year deal, according to Drew and Robert.

They also have Scotty Miller and Tyler Johnson on their roster.

If Rob will come back, the bay is waiting to see.

Jones is a luxury item at this point. Injuries limited him to 19 games over the past two seasons, and he will most likely be hoping to rebuild his value.

The Atlanta Falcons traded Jones and a sixth-round pick in 2020 to the TennesseeTitans for a second-round pick in 2022, and a fourth-round pick in 2023.

In just 10 games last season, Jones set career-lows in targets (48), reception (31), receiving yards (434) and touchdown (one).

The Los Angeles Rams defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the playoffs to win theNFC South in 2021.
