The James Bond movies are now owned by Amazon. The company closed its acquisition of MGM.

The deal was approved by European Union antitrust regulators. There wasn't a lot of overlap between the two companies, and that MGM's content isn't as important as other studios'.

The Federal Trade Commission was given a deadline of mid-March to challenge or approve the acquisition by Amazon. If the agency did not file a legal challenge by that time, Amazon would not be able to move forward with the purchase.

Amazon said in a press release that MGM will complement Prime Video and work in delivering a diverse offering of entertainment choices to customers. More than 4,000 films and 17,000 episodes of TV have been produced by the studio. MGM movies include classics such as The Silence of the Lambs, The Wizard of Oz, and Raging Bull.

James Bond movies will still be released in theaters by Amazon instead of being exclusive to Prime Video. After theatrical runs and agreements with other streaming platforms, most MGM movies and TV shows will end up on Prime Video.
