The fight card at the Madison Square Garden could provide a glimpse of future world champion. The prelims will be on the Disney Channel at 7:10 p.m. The time is 3:20.

The Top Rank card inside one of boxing's most historic venues features two of the promotional company's most interesting prospects.

On a busy weekend in boxing, the two undeserving prospects are looking to continue their ascent. Keyshawn Davis, who won a silver medal in the 2020 Olympics, was scheduled to fight on the New York card, but was forced to withdraw because of an illness.

There are three intriguing prospects ahead of this weekend's fights.

Edgar Berlanga

Berlanga's knockout streak was snapped in the first round, but he got a huge knockdown of Nicholson in the final round to win.

Berlanga had a good amateur background. He turned pro at the age of 18 after finishing second at the USA Boxing Junior Olympic National Championships.

His streak started when that happened. When Berlanga signed with Top Rank, he had 16 consecutive first-round knockouts. That helped him gain a large following. He went all eight rounds against Nicholson.

Top Rank Boxing can be seen on the two networks. You can get exclusive boxing events and weigh-ins with your subscription to ESPN+.

6:30 p.m. The undercard fights are on Saturday.

10 p.m. On Saturday, there is a match between Steve Rolls and Edgar Berlanga.

Berlanga has shown his strength throughout his career. He has good power in both hands, especially when throwing a left or right hook. He lands more power punches than the division average, which is 8% higher.

In his last fight, Berlanga showed some susceptibility. Berlanga was knocked down for the first time. 70 of the 101 total punches were power shots.

Berlanga is close to becoming a true contender in the super middleweight division. Steve Rolls is his toughest opponent to date. The only professional loss was against Gennadiy Golovkin.

They say that they have been in camp with a lot of guys at the world championship level. A lot of them may cut corners. I can't say that about him. He is one of the workhorses in the gym. He doesn't cut corners. He is like 100% business. Middleweight Nico Ali-Walsh sparred with Berlanga to prepare for this fight.

Xander Zayas

When he was 5 years old, Zayas started boxing and moved to Florida when he was 11. If he met the age requirement at the time, he would represent the United States at the 2020 Olympics. Instead, he made history when he signed with Top Rank as a 16-year-old, the youngest fighter to ever sign a contract with the promotional company.

He didn't let restrictions from COVID-19 stop him from progressing in his career. Since the start of the Pandemic, the junior middleweight has fought eight bouts.

The skill set has made Zayas particularly aggressive. According to CompuBox, he throws 73.6 punches per round, 17 more than the average. Those are not all soft shots. He is connecting on more power punches than anyone else.

His mindset is equally impressive. Luis Espada, who is the cornerman for other Puerto Rican fighters such as junior flyweight champion Jonathan Bomba and junior lightweight contender Jose Pedraza, said that maturity is one of the reasons he will become a world champion soon.

He is still very young in his career. The fight against Quincy LaVallais will be the first eight-round bout. Things will not go the distance. 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 800-273-3217 It will be a while before Zayas is considered a title contender. The hype that followed him from the amateur to the pros has continued. He was named the 2021 prospect of the year.

He has something that cannot be taught or trained. He has the same killer instinct as other people. Luis Espada, the trainer for 25 years, said that when they get hurt, they know what to do.

Keyshawn Davis

Davis is the most intriguing prospect in Top Rank. Davis was a coveted free agent after returning from the Olympics. He turned pro at the beginning of 2021, and he was already a star on the undercard of a fight at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Davis and his brother, Kelvin, both signed deals with Top Rank. Keyshawn won his first fight on his debut contract, thumping Jose Zaragoza and earning a second-round knockout on the undercard of the Vasiliy Lomachenko-Richard Commey fight.

Davis was a successful amateur and Olympian because of his skill set. He has good speed and reflexes. Davis hit the body with a left hook against Richman Ashelley last April and it was the body that stopped Zaragoza later in the year.

Davis was forced to withdraw from his scheduled bout because of a virus unrelated to COVID-19, according to Top Rank. It is a minor speedbump for a fighter who wants to accelerate his career. The undercard of the Stevenson-Valdez junior lightweight title fight in Las Vegas was the reason for the rescheduling of the Davis-Sanchez bout.

Signing Key is like Signing the No. 1 recruit for a D-1 school. Carl Moretti, vice president of Top Rank's boxing operations, said that Keyshawn will be a face of boxing in years to come.
