The Philadelphia Eagles and general manager Howie Roseman have reportedly agreed on a three-year contract extension.
Jimmy Kempski of Philly Voice reported Thursday that Roseman, who had one season left on his previous deal, is now under contract through the 2025 NFL season.
Tim McManus confirmed the deal.
Roseman joined the Eagles' front office in 2000 and worked his way through the ranks en route to becoming the general manager in 2010. He transitioned to the role of executive vice president of football operations in 2015 but reclaimed the GM title in 2019.
The 46-year-old New York City native played a key role in building the roster that helped Philadelphia capture the Super Bowl LII title at the end of the 2017 season.
Philly is coming off a 9-8 campaign in 2021 that resulted in a playoff appearance, but it was eliminated in the Wild Card Round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In January, Roseman said the Eagles are still in a "building mode" with an eye toward better outcomes in the coming years.
"We're not happy with the fact that our season ended in the playoffs," Roseman told reporters. "We want to build a team that has home playoff games, that gets to play in front of our fanbase, really build a team that gets a bye [as the NFC's No. 1 seed]."
Philadelphia made an initial splash in free agency by landing outside linebacker Haason Reddick. He signed a three-year, $45 million contract with $30 million guaranteed, per Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network.
The draft will be the most important part of the Eagles' offseason, though. They have three first-round picks (Nos. 15, 16 and 19), which gives them a chance to either add a trio of instant-impact of prospects or gives them the ammo to move up in the order for a player they covet.
Roseman's contract extension represents a vote of confidence that he's the right person to lead Philly through a key stretch of the roster-building process as it looks to re-emerge as a championship contender within the next year or two.
