Marizanne Kapp was once again the hero as South Africa came through to beat New Zealand in the Women's World Cup.
The Proteas were on their way to the target when they lost three of their own for nine runs.
With 27 needed from four overs, Kapp made it six from one and ended on 34 as the game was won with three balls left.
South Africa beat New Zealand for the first time in a World Cup game.
They have eight points and need one more win to get to the semi-finals.
New Zealand will face England on Sunday.
The loser of that match will be on the verge of elimination, while the winner will advance to the semi-finals.
South Africa have beaten Pakistan and England in last-over finishes before.
This one should not have been that close. The pace trio of Shabnim Ismail, Kapp and Khaka were excellent to take six of New Zealand's last seven runs. The White Ferns had a modest total despite the captain's 93.
The Proteas were cruising in the chase when Laura Wolvaardt and Sune Luus added 88 for the third.
Leg-spinner Amelia Kerr had Mignon du Preez caught behind and seamer Hannah Rowe had Luus caught behind.
The required run-rate spiralled towards seven, but Kapp kept the team afloat.
She hit Devine for four in the 47th over and then pinched a single in the final over to keep the strike.
The first ball of the 50th was delivered by MacKay and it was four over the leg side.
With the game over, Kapp trusted 10 Khaka to hit the winning run.
