Money has been pouring in on Duke at sportsbooks around the nation, including one wager that would pay more than $5 million if the Blue Dukes win the national championship.
A $300,000 bet was placed on the Blue Devil to win it all with 17-1 odds. If Duke wins, the bet will pay $5.1 million.
PointsBet has three of the largest national championship bets on the Blue Devil, and more bets have been placed on Duke to win the tournament than on any other team.
Krzyzewski is making his 36th appearance in the NCAA tournament, the most of all time, even though he has said he will retire after the season.
The top seed in the West Region is Gonzaga. Krzyzewski has eight wins over the No. 1 seeds in the tournament, the most in history.
The consensus favorite to win the tournament, Gonzaga, has attracted some big bets, including a $40,000 and $30,000 wager with the SuperBook. Kentucky is the favorite at 8-1, followed by Arizona at 6-1, and Kansas at 9-1.
