Apple is expected to hold the annual Worldwide Developers Conference in a month, but the annual Google I/O developers conference is set to take place in May.
The event will be live from Shoreline Amphitheatre, and the content will be available online. The wording of his message was confusing, but it was clear that this will be an online-only event.
A limited audience will be at the event, with press and other attendees expected to tune in online.
Update: it’s basically online from shoreline. From Google To clarify: the "limited audience" here will primarily be Googlers as well as some partners. Press and others should plan to tune in online. — Ina Fried (@inafried) March 16, 2022
It is possible that the company chose not to invite some people to attend in person because they would have been seen by people from around the world.
The online-only event held by Google may give us some insight into Apple's plans. Apple has not said when the Worldwide Developers Conference will take place or if it will have an in-person element. Apple has been cautious throughout the global health crisis, so we are likely to see them go for an online event as well.
We may not have to wait long to find out what Apple has in store for the Worldwide Developers Conference in June of 2022, as Apple last year announced the dates for the conference on March 30.
