In 2009, Greinke won the American League Cy Young Award. He had the best year of his career with the Dodgers in 2015, leading the majors with a 1.66 earned run average and 0.84 WHIP.
The Royals hope Greinke can return to form as a consistent starter near the top of the rotation, but they have more work to do if they want to become a contender in the American League.
