Shannon scraps liquid rule in baggage after 16 years.

Shannon airport in West Ireland has dropped the size restriction on containers in hand baggage.

The airport announced it will allow passengers to take any size container of liquid, gels, pastes, and cosmetics through the airport.

Water, baby food, medicines and other beverages, aerosol cans and toiletries are exempt from size limitations according to the airport.

Passengers are advised to pack their bags themselves before going to the security screening area because liquids must be kept inside hand luggage.

The old 100ml restrictions on outbound passengers departing from Shannon Airport are no longer in effect because of the new passenger screening system.

You can now bring liquids as long as they are stored in your cabin and bottle size is not a problem.

If you go to another airport as part of your trip you should fight the old liquid restrictions that only allow 100mls or 888-282-0465 888-282-0465 888-282-0465 888-282-0465 888-282-0465 888-282-0465.

The ban on liquids, aerosols and gels was put in place after a plan to blow up planes.

The ingredients for the bombs were brought through the airport. Anything that can vaguely be classified as a liquid is currently banned.

The technology used in Shannon is being used at other airports to make the rules more relaxed and improve the passenger experience.

The technology must be installed at major airports in the UK by December 1st, 2022.

In June of this year, the airport announced a 50 million investment in high-tech kit that uses the same technology as medical scans to assess whether a substance presents a threat.

When fully deployed, the equipment could eliminate the need for passengers to remove their liquids and laptops from their baggage.
