I would probably cry if someone told me that the only device I could ever use for the rest of my life was an iPad Air. It sounds wonderful in theory. I can use it like a laptop during the day and a TV in the evening. The software that is iPadOS is making it difficult. The thought of only ever using the iPad makes me clutch onto my MacBook for the rest of my life.

The fifth-generation tablet has the same M1 chip as Apple's MacBooks and desktop computers, making it more powerful than ever for both content creators and gaming. An upgraded front-facing camera, a faster USB-C port, and 5G are included in the new version. The price is the same as the last iPad Air at $599. It is crucial to make sure that your day-to-day tasks would benefit from the added performance and features that iPadOS has to offer.

It's familiar plique, subtle tweaking.

The iPad Air received a new look in 2020. Apple added a bigger display, Touch ID into the top button, swapped a proprietary Lightning port for an industry-standard one, and added fun color options like sky blue, green, and rose gold.

The iPad Air has the same design and features, but it has a Touch ID top button, a 12-megapixel rear camera, and an array of vibrant colors. The redesign of the iPad Air is fresh enough that it doesn't feel boring. The sleek look of the colorful tablet makes it easy to carry around without a case.

If you want to use a case for additional protection, Apple has a smart connector on the back that allows you to attach the iPad to a keyboard. If you upgrade to the new iPad Air, you won't have to buy new accessories.

If you want to get the most out of your slim new computer and enjoy the complete iPad Air experience, you will have to pay for the Magic Keyboard and second-generation Apple Pencil. Adding those things to the iPad Air brings the total to $1,028. The MacBook Air is powered by the M1 engine. You might want to check out third-party accessories.

The exterior of Apple is not obvious to the naked eye. There are new colors, including pink, purple, blue, and Starlight. The traditional Space Gray is a more subdued tone that you can opt for. The previous version of the port was twice as fast as the new version.

Apple has added a standard feature to its intelligent framing software for video called Center Stage, which makes it possible for it to call a standard feature. The camera's sensor automatically pans and zooms to help keep you in the frame during calls, as well as apps like WebEx. The camera follows you if you move around. It is supposed to help offset the awkward angle of the iPad's camera, which sits at the side of the device when the iPad is in landscape mode, the orientation that's most natural for video calls. There is no software that can fix that angle. It is too extreme and Apple will have to move the camera to fix it. I apologize for the awkwardness during video calls, but until then, I'll have to look off to the side.

Center Stage is more useful if you use it to cook, clean, or do makeup. You don't have to constantly move the iPad around with you. It is not as helpful when you are sitting at your desk. If I reach for my coffee cup in my chair or pan to the side, the camera will move around if I adjust my seating position. It is awkward and nauseating if you are sensitive to that kind of stuff. You can turn it off whenever you please.
