Following in the footsteps ofInstagram, Facebook has just launched on TikTok. Meta's companies are making a home for themselves on a competitor platform.

The account on TikTok is verified and has 19.5K followers. Their bio reads, "We believe people can do more together, than alone, and we have a link to the Facebook app on the Google Play store."

The apps on apps are getting bigger.

One obvious question is why the account is not named after Meta, the parent company of Facebook. There are no answers yet on that front.

What kind of content will be posted on this account is a mystery. It is hard to tell since there are no posts yet. A lot of the time, a TikTok account is used by the social media site, which often posts a bunch of pictures with moving background and voices superimposed. In order to promote Reels and share tips on how to use it, the social media site took on TikTok. Time will tell what Facebook will do.

Meta confirmed the legitimacy of the account. Mashable reached out for comment.
