Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy gave a virtual address to Congress on Wednesday, imploring the US to support a no-fly zone over his country. Zelenskyy said if this was too much to ask for, then Kyiv needs more advanced anti-aircraft systems, like the S-300 surface-to-air missile systems, as well as aircraft and other weapons.

Zelenskyy said that Russia has turned the Ukrainian sky into a source of death for thousands of people. There are aircraft that can help Europe.

Zelenskyy said that he had a dream and that the words were known to each of you. I have a need today. I need to protect the sky.

The Ukrainian president said the Russian assault on his country is a terror that Europe has not seen in 80 years.

Zelenskyy asked for an answer to the terror from the whole world. Is it possible to create a no-fly zone over Ukraine to save people? Is it too much to ask? A no-fly zone?

The fate of Ukraine is being decided in this war, he said.

Zelenskyy called on the US to remember Pearl Harbor and the 9/11 terror attacks.

Zelenskyy has called on NATO to create a no-fly zone as Russia attacks Ukraine. NATO and the US would have to shoot down Russian warplanes in order to approve this request. NATO, a 30-member alliance that includes nuclear powers like the US, would make a declaration of war against Russia, a country with one of the world's largest nuclear arsenals.

The US has given billions of dollars in security assistance to Ukraine. Pro-Russian rebels in eastern Ukraine were supported by the Kremlin. The US has provided aid to Ukraine that includes Javelin anti-tank missiles, but it has also asked for more advanced defense systems.

The government funding bill signed by President Joe Biden included $13.6 billion in military and humanitarian aid for Ukraine.

Zelenskyy asked the US to slap more sanctions on Russia. In the dark times for our country, I call on you to do more.

Zelenskyy has refused to leave Ukraine because of his safety concerns. He has been praised for his handling of the Russia invasion.

The Ukrainian president has expressed gratitude for the support his country has received from the West. Since Russia launched its military assault on Ukraine in February, he has cooled on the NATO ambitions of the country.

Russia wants NATO to permanently exclude Ukraine. NATO has not taken steps to place Ukraine on the formal path to join NATO, but it has firmly rejected this demand from Russia. Despite not being a member, Ukraine still has a strong partnership with NATO.

Zelenskyy has been in office for a few years. He's already upstaged Putin, who has ruled over Russia for 20 years. The Russian advance was expected to be more of a resistance than it was. More than three million Ukrainians were forced to flee the country in less than a month because of the war.

The war in Ukraine has resulted in The children were killed.

I'm almost 45. When the hearts of 100 children stopped, my age stopped as well. Zelenskyy said at the end of his speech to Congress that there was no sense in life if death could not be stopped.

He wished Biden to be the leader of the world. Being the leader of the world means being the leader of peace.

The Ukrainian president said that Russia launched a brutal offensive against the values of Europe and the world.

Zelenskyy said that the American people are helping not just Ukraine, but Europe and the world to keep justice in history.

Putin baselessly suggested that Ukraine was committing genocide against ethnic Russians and Russian speakers. Putin said that Russia would engage in de-Nazification of Ukraine. Zelenskyy speaks Russian, is Jewish, and members of his family died in the Holocaust, highlighting how bizarre and unfounded Putin's justifications for the war have been.

Biden, among others, has said that Putin wants to restore the Soviet Union, after he suggested that Ukraine is not a real country.
