The fourth Russian general has been killed since the invasion began.

The Russian assault on the city of Mariupol resulted in the death of the Maj. General, according to an advisor to the Ukrainian Interior Ministry.

A photo of the dead person was posted by Gerashchenko. Russia has not commented on the claim that the image is authentic.

According to officials from unnamed Western governments, Russia sent 20 Major Generals to lead the invasion.

Losing so many top-ranking officers would be a huge blow to the Russian military.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed the Russian offensive was losing steam.
