Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson met with several teams in recent days, but they had to clear a hurdle before they could sit down with him.

Houston approved teams to meet with him only after their trade packages were approved by the organization.

The Atlanta Falcons are scheduled to meet with the man on Wednesday. Atlanta has a trade package approved by Houston. The unretirement of Tom Brady on Sunday made the only other team in the South not propose a trade for him.

With Houston agreeing to multiple trade packages, it appears that the team is willing to move on from him, even though he sat out the entire 2021 season amid 22 civil lawsuits and 10 criminal complaints by women accusing him of sexual assault and misconduct.

A grand jury in Texas decided not to indict the man. After the league completes its own investigation, he could be disciplined under the personal conduct policy.

The decision on the trade package will be made by the Texan, not the other way around. The three-time Pro Bowler has a no-trade clause that allows him to control his fate.
