The MLB players made their opinions clear on the commissioner, and he admitted last week that he had to do more to repair his relationship with them.

At least one respected veteran has provided clear comments about the impact of Manfred on players.

According to the Associated Press, St. LouisCardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright said, "He doesn't do anything for us."

I know how that is going to read, so don't take it personally, I know how that is going to read. That is just how it looks from a players point of view.

In a news conference at MLB headquarters in New York last week, Commissioner Rob Manfred talked about how he needed to have a good relationship with players but hadn't accomplished that yet.

"One of the things that I'm supposed to do is promote a good relationship with our players I've tried to do that. I think that I have not been successful in that. I think that it begins with small steps. It's why I picked the phone up after the ratification and called Tony and expressed my desire to work with him. It's gonna be a priority of mine moving forward to try to make good on the commitment I made to him on the phone."

According to the AP, players were asked about what they could do better.

The New York Yankees relief pitcher said it was just more positive for the game and players.

There was a lot of anger toward the pitcher.

The first two series of the year will be canceled because of the labor dispute, and Kevin Kiermaier was not happy about it.

The deal didn't get done two weeks ago, but he is laughing or smiling.

In the midst of a labor dispute, it can be difficult to form a positive relationship with players.

He has to make sure he watches out for those guys.

After a new collective bargaining agreement was reached, the relationship between owners and players appears to have healed, giving Commissioner Rob Manfred a chance to act on his stated priority. Spring training is in full swing and the opening day is April 7.
