QB Tyrod Taylor plans to sign 2-year, $17 million deal with New York Giants, source says

A source told Adam that Tyrod Taylor will sign a two-year, $17 million deal with the New York Giants.

The source said the deal includes $8.5 million in guaranteed money.

Taylor seemed to confirm the impending signing by posting to the social networking site.

The Giants wanted to get a capable veteran backup QB. At the beginning of free agency, they tried to sign Mitchell Trubisky, who is expected to be the starter in Pittsburgh.

The Giants experienced an offensive collapse late last season when Daniel Jones was injured, and it was important for the new regime to avoid that.
