According to a report, Jordan Hicks has found a new team after being released by the Arizona Cardinals.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported Tuesday that the Minnesota Vikings had a new deal in place with defensive end Akiem Hicks.
According to Inside the Birds, the deal is for two years and $10 million with $6.5 million in guaranteed money. The contract can be worth up to $12 million with incentives.
He finished with four sacks and 116 tackles. Arizona decided to let him go to open up more playing time for Zaven Collins.
Three straight seasons of 100 or more tackles was posted by Hicks when he joined the Cards in 2019. He was selected in the third round of the 2015 draft by the Philadelphia Eagles.
The move is timely for the Vikings, who are facing the possibility of potential offseason departures at the linebacker position. Both Anthony Barr and Nick Vigil are unrestricted free agents, and they are the center of the linebacking corps.
Should either or both of those players walk, he will give Minnesota some much-needed peace of mind.
