Fossil Group confirms Alexa app rollout on Gen 6 smartwatches, more features to come

Fossil confirms the launch of the Gen 6 smartwatch.

• Select Wear OS smartwatches now have access to Amazon Alexa.
• The app allows users one-tap access to the smart assistant directly from the smartwatch.
• Users can add Alexa as a tile or set Alexa as a button shortcut for quicker access.
• Fossil hopes to expand Alexa features on both the tile and the app.

When the Skagen Falster Gen 6 was launched, Fossil Group teased the availability of an accessory. The app has been there, but it has not been used. The company has now confirmed that the app is available for use on some of the best Wear OS watches from Fossil Group, after users noticed last week that the app was active and available for use on some of the best Wear OS watches from Fossil Group.

The initial setup process includes giving the app certain permission, such as making and managing phone calls. You can use the app on your watch if you connect it to the best phones on the market.

It's pretty simple. You will have to use one-tap access because there is no always-listening function here. You will be able to ask your smart home device to play music, provide the weather forecast, control smart home devices, dial your phone, and more.

The setup process will prompt you to set theAlexa app as a hardware button shortcut for quick access. For those who are satisfied with their current setup, there is also a basic Alexa tile that should suffice. Fossil Group said that it looks forward to expanding the function of the Tile and App, but did not give any details.

Users can now use more than one smart assistant from their Wear OS watches, in case the other one isn't their cup of tea. The upcoming update will include the addition of the Google Assistant.

The Skagen Falster Gen 6 and Michael Kors Gen 6 are newer watches from Fossil Group. It doesn't sound like it will be available on older watches because the app is only available on Fossil Groups Gen 6 smartwatches.
