The narrator of the Our Great National Parks documentary is former President Barack Obama. The series was announced last February as part of a slate of programming that the former president and his wife are producing for the streaming service.

The show includes footage from parks in Monterey Bay, California, and Gunung Leuser National Park in Indonesia.
The Obamas signed a multi-year agreement with the internet video service in order to create a diverse mix of content, including the potential for scripted series, docuseries, documentaries, and features from Higher Ground. In addition to the national parks series, the company has brought to it the children's shows, as well as the Oscar-winning documentary American Factory, and the film Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution.
On April 13th, our great national parks will be on netflix.
