The head coach named his 24 man squad for the March double-header, which included the first senior Scotland call-up for Bologna full-back.

The 19-year-old has played in 26 games for the Italian side this season and has been a key player.

The youngster was left out of the U21 squad for the upcoming Euro qualification but could be in line to get his chance under Clarke.

Over the course of the season, he is one of the best young players in Europe.

It is a chance for me to bring him into the squad to have a look at him, compare him to people that are in the squad, and he has a lot of competition in front of him.

Ryan Jack is back in the squad after a long spell out with injury, while David Marshall is back in the squad after a loan move to Queens Park Rangers.

Ryan Fraser, Kevin Nisbet, and Liam Cooper are all missing out.

The loser of Austria or Wales will face the winner in an away friendly five days later.

Scotland has a squad.

Craig Gordon, Liam Kelly, and David Marshall are the goalkeepers.

Scotland head coach Steve Clarke says his side won't be able to play six matches in June with World Cup play-offs and Nations League ties to go ahead and discusses his squad for March's double-header.

The Nations League and World Cup play-offs are likely to prevent Scotland from playing six matches in June.

The window is already scheduled for four games, so it is quite a heavy schedule, he said. Six players need a rest in the summer when they have had a long, hard season with their clubs.

It will be difficult for us, but we need to remember the human matters. At this moment in time, everything takes a back seat to the situation in Ukraine.

At the moment, most of the discussions are above my head. All I can tell you is that the negotiations are trying to look at many different scenarios. I hope we can play Ukraine in June. If we can do that, it means the situation is better for everyone.

Fraser withdrew from the Scotland squad in November due to a calf problem, but was subsequently pictured on the training ground.

The door is open despite the fact that he hasn't been picked for the team this time.

There was a situation in November where Ryan didn't come with the squad but trained with his club. I had a good chat with Ryan after he apologized.

I decided not to pick him in this camp and we have agreed that Ryan's club form going forward will determine whether he's involved in the next camps. It is up to Ryan how he plays for his club.
