Scott Hall

Scott Hall, also known as the toothpick-tossing, machismo-oozing professional wrestler Razor Ramon, has died. The wrestler was taken off life support by his family due to a recent surgery. He was 63 years old.

Hall was placed on life support after suffering three heart attacks due to a loose blood clot that emerged during hip surgery.

Hall was one of the most popular professional wrestlers of the last 30 years. He was a two-time WWE Hall of Fame member. The New World Order was founded by Diesel and Nash in the mid-90s, and they were among the first WWE Superstars to jump to WCW.

Nash posted a tribute to his friend hours before Hall died.

Nash wrote that he was going to lose the one person he had spent most of his life with. I have been blessed to have a friend that took me at face value. We didn't care who liked or hated us.

I need some gold plated toothpicks for my brother.

Hall made his pro-wrestling debut in October 1984 as a member of the tag team American Starship. Over the next decade, Hall would have different wrestling promotions. Scott Hall and Mangum were both in the American Wrestling Association. During his first stint at WCW, he wore the nickname Diamond Studd, which he later changed to Diamond Dallas Page.

Hall made his name in the WWF. Hall created the Cuban-American persona Razor Ramon and made his debut on the August 8, 1992 edition of WWF Superstars.

Ramon became one of the promotion's most successful stars, winning numerous Intercontinental Championships and participating in the greatest ladder match of all time against Shawn Michaels.

Hall and Nash shocked the wrestling world in 1996 when they cut a promo on the flagship television show of the WWE's main competitor.

The promotion's edgier, reality-based rebrand was started by Hall and Nash's time in WCW. They founded the NWO, which helped move wrestling into a more adult-oriented era and was a progenitor of the WWF.

Hall returned to WCW after Vince McMahon purchased it in 2001. He returned to the WWE for several events, including two in the Hall of Fame for Razor Ramon and the NWO in 2020, despite having health issues after finding sobriety.

The Bad Guy was one of the most imposing and charismatic wrestlers to step in the squared circle. Hall helped define the modern wrestling anti-hero, whether in the ring or on the mic.

When I stepped through that curtain, I was able to have a relationship with the audience, even if I was the hated villain or the beloved hero.

I learned hard work pays off. Dreams come true. Bad time doesn't last, but bad guys do.
