Harry Kane has revealed that the players at Spurs are very happy and will give the top four a real go between now and the end of the season.

Spurs are currently eighth in the premier league and six points behind fourth place, having played one game more, because of their lack of consistency under their Italian manager.

In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports ahead of Spurs' trip to Seagulls on Wednesday, Kane echoed the thoughts of Antonio Conte, who claimed that Spurs' rebuild is not a quick fix.

We dropped off over the last couple of years after we went two or three years challenging for trophies. Antonio wants to put us back in that place by building a culture that he wants to be.

There are fine lines between being top four or being sixth or eighth in the premier league. There are no easy games and every team is getting better.

The manager and his players are working hard. It takes time and understanding to get a quick fix. He needs to talk to the club and chairman to see what direction the club needs to go. We can't speak highly enough of him from my point of view.

Kane: I'm only focused on the run-in

Manchester City tried to sign Kane in the summer of 2015, but the England captain committed to the north Londoners.

After a slow start to the season, the Golden Boot winner has hit back with 10 goals in his last 13 top-flight appearances.

If Spurs fail to qualify for the playoffs, there will be more speculation about Kane's future, but the England captain insists that he is only focused on the top-four race.

Kane said that he was the first to look at his own standards.

It was a time to work hard and have a good understanding with each other, since Antonio came in. If you are improving under a coach, that is the most important thing.

The hardest part as a player is when you don't know where you're going or where the club is going. I feel like I am getting better and the team is with Antonio. That makes you want to be better. The top four should be given a chance at the end of the season.

It is always an aim to get into the European Championship for the club. You would like to be in the best competition in the world. Getting top four is the most important goal for me this year.

If we can get on a run, this is more than possible. The manager can control as well, but that's all I can control. Let's see where we end up.
