The company will add a fuel surcharge to fares in order to deal with rising fuel prices around the country.

The impact of rising gas prices on the driver community has been closely monitored by the company. We will share more details soon.

Gas prices have spiked in part due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, as evidenced by the temporary fuel surcharge announced by Lyft. Depending on a rider's location, the surcharge adds either $0.45 or $0.55 on each ride.

The surcharge will go to the drivers. Even if a ride is done in an electric vehicle, the surcharge will still apply to the ride.
