According to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to a deal with free-agent wide receiver Christian Kirk.
The sides agreed to a four-year deal worth up to $84 million, according to Adam Schefter. Rapoport said the contract is worth $72 million and can reach a maximum value of $84 million.
The Jacksonville team has already agreed to deals with guard Brandon Scherff, defensive tackle Foley Fatukasi, and linebacker Foye Oluokun, according to Tom Pelissero.
Kirk was taken in the second round of the 2018?
The wideout averaged over 600 receiving yards in his first three years in the NFL before he broke through in 2021. He averaged more yards per game than his two more experienced teammates, A.J. Green and DeANDRE HOPKINS.
He was a key part of the offense that finished 10th in the NFL in passing yards and 11th in total points.
After a hot start, Arizona faded down the stretch and lost to the Los Angeles Rams in the first round of the playoffs. Kirk had at least 50 receiving yards in 11 of 18 games, including the playoffs, as a key part of the success.
With a new team, the receiver could fill an even bigger role as a go-to option.
The squad looks to improve upon last year's 3-14 finish as they look for second-year passer Trevor Lawrence to look Kirk's way.
