The Washington Commanders guard is going to sign with the Jacksonville Jags, according to a source. Since Andrew Norwell is not coming back, the Jags have an opening at left guard. If Sherfff slides into that spot, the Jaguars could move third-year player Ben Bartch from right guard to left guard and have Sheff play right guard. Bartch was an injury replacement for A.J. Cann. One of the best guards in the league during his seven seasons with Washington, was the fifth overall pick in the 2015 draft. He is one of the better interior players blocking in the open field. In five of the past six seasons, he made the Pro Bowl. He was an All-Pro in 2020. He has missed 22 games over the past four seasons. Two of the six games that he missed were because of COVID-19 and a left knee injury. The franchise tag was used by Washington for the past two years, and they paid him $18 million last season. It was difficult for them to agree on a long-term deal. The report was contributed to by Michael DiRocco and John Keim.
