Mitchell Trubisky, Steelers Agree to Contract as Ben Roethlisberger's Replacement

According to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, Mitchell Trubisky has agreed to a two-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

After Ben Roethlisberger's retirement, Trubisky will be the expected starter.

Trubisky confirmed the agreement to Adam.

After four seasons with the Chicago Bears, Trubisky was a backup to Josh Allen, who was the second overall pick in the draft.

In 51 career games with the Bears, he completed 64 percent of his passes for 10,609 yards and 64 touchdown against 37 picks. The team traded for Nick Foles, who eventually became the starter.

In six appearances with the Bills in 2021, Trubisky completed six of eight passes for 43 yards. He had 24 yards and a score.

The signing of Trubisky was a no-brainer. The only quarterbacks on the roster after Roethlisberger were Mason, Josh, and Josh, and they were all better than Trubisky.

Signing Trubisky was a much better option than drafting and starting a young quarterback. There wasn't much hype around the signal-callers in comparison to the 2021 class.
