The Chase Freedom Flex SM Credit Card is part of Chase's Freedom portfolio and can help you maximize your points thanks to its quarterly bonus categories.
The last day to register for the 5x points categories is today, and we learned the bonus categories yesterday. The Chase Freedom Card is no longer open to new applicants, but the bonus categories are still valid.
The Chase Freedom Flex Card is one of the best no annual fee cards out there, as it offers 5x points in rotating quarterly categories, for up to $1,500 of spending per quarter. The 5x points translate into 5% back in these categories, which is why most people use this as a card.
The card offers 3x points at drugstores and 3% cash back on dining, as well as other bonus categories.
The best part is that in conjunction with a credit card.
My preferred use of those points is one that is more than one cent.
In the second quarter of 2022, the Freedom Flex Card will give 5x points on the first $1,500 spent with Amazon and select streaming services. Key dates are listed.
I will post again tomorrow when registration opens for the new bonus categories, but it is good to know what to expect. Many will value the bonus on Amazon purchases.
In the first quarter of 2022, the Freedom Flex Card will give 5x points on the first $1,500 spent at grocery stores and eBay. Key dates are listed.
Just go to the registration page and enter your last name, billing zip code, and last four digits on your card, and you will be registered.
There is some confusion about what purchases qualify for the bonus categories.
The grocery store bonus category has some terms.
Merchants in the Grocery Stores category include supermarkets, merchants that offer a full service grocery line of merchandise including a deli and bakery as well as smaller grocery stores. Some merchants that sell grocery items are not included in this category; for example, larger stores that sell a wide variety of goods, such as Target, Walmart, discount stores, warehouse clubs, and some smaller merchants such as drugstores and merchants that specialize in only a few grocery items. Purchases made at gas stations from merchants who also operate grocery stores are not included in this category. Delivery service merchants will not be included in this category unless the merchant has set up such purchases to be classified in the grocery stores category.
The eBay bonus category has some terms.
The eBay category includes Buy It Now and Auction purchases made on the ebay.com marketplace and eBay mobile app. Transactions must post to your credit card statement during the qualifying quarter to be eligible.
I think the bonus categories should be easy to maximize.
You can redeem your points on the Chase Freedom Flex for one cent.
If you have a card that accrues Ultimate rewards points, you can transfer them to another card. Ultimate rewards cards include:
5% cashback converts into 5x Ultimate rewards points per dollar with one of the above cards.
The Chase Freedom Flex is one of the best no annual fee cards out there, thanks to its ability to earn 5x points in rotating quarterly categories. You can earn 5x points on the first $1,500 you spend with grocery stores and eBay through March 31, 2022.
You will be able to earn 5x points on the first $1,500 you spend with Amazon and select streaming services in Q2 2022. On Tuesday, registration will open.
