Air Canada Aeroplan has an emphasis on adding partners, which is one of my favorite things. Aeroplan has more airline partners than any other program. Several partners have been added in recent months.

Air Canada Aeroplan launched a partnership with Air Mauritius. When the partnership went live, award redemptions were only available on Air Mauritius. You can earn points for travel on Air Mauritius.

Aeroplan members have access to award tickets with no carrier imposed surcharges, as well as stopovers for just 5,000 extra points one-way, thanks to the new program launched in late 2020.

Air Canada & Air Mauritius partnership details

Aeroplan members can earn and redeem points for travel on Air Canada and Air Mauritius through a loyalty program partnership. I wanted to discuss the opportunities this affords, and also talk about Air Mauritius, for those who aren't familiar.

What is Air Mauritius?

You may have guessed that Air Mauritius is the national airline of Mauritius. The carrier has flights to London and Paris as well as flights to other destinations.

Air Mauritius has a fleet of nine aircraft, including two A350-900s and four A330-900neos.

Redeem Aeroplan points on Air Mauritius

Air Canada Aeroplan points can be redeemed on all Air Mauritius flights. There are a few things to note.

• Air Mauritius awards follow Aeroplan’s standard partner award pricing chart
• Aeroplan members have access to business class and economy class awards on Air Mauritius
• Aeroplan members are able to book Air Mauritius flights online at aircanada.com, or via the call center
• Air Mauritius flights are combinable with flights operated by Air Canada and other international airline partners (so you could fly from Newark to London on United, and London to Mauritius on Air Mauritius, for example)
• While there are no carrier imposed surcharges, the standard 39 CAD partner booking fee applies

Earn Aeroplan points on Air Mauritius

Aeroplan points can be earned for all scheduled flights on Air Mauritius. You don't earn Status Qualifying Miles for Air Mauritius flights. The Aeroplan points earning chart is for Air Mauritius.

Air Canada Aeroplan can now be used to redeem Aeroplan points for travel on Air Mauritius. It is a great partnership for people who want to travel to Africa. Air Mauritius has a good product and award availability is easy to come by.

Air Canada Aeroplan is the best way to book Air Mauritius if you have points. Aeroplan keeps adding new airline partners, which is something that other programs don't seem to be doing in the same way.
