The first trailer for the next live-action Star Trek spinoff, "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds", has been beamed in from Paramount Plus and it looks to be a cowboy adventure to the stars.
The Paramount Plus streaming service will be home to Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, which stars Anson Mount as the first captain of Trek's flagship starship.

Strange New Worlds is bringing some cowboy action to the Star Trek franchise. It opens with Pike on horseback, galloping across a snow-covered ranch dotted with windmills as a shuttlecraft arrives.

There is a voice that says "Chris, I need you back, Captain", and that it is possible that the Federation problem only he can solve.
We see a series of flashes of alien planets, including some of the strange new worlds that Trek is known for.
The trailer ends with a quick look at the crew. They beam down to a planet in spacesuits and walk around, then view shifts to a lush planet where a crowd has gathered and see a paper cutout of the Enterprise transition into the starship itself. The final view shows him looking into space.
We can't wait to see more.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is the third live-action spinoff to join the Trek TV revival, which began with Discovery. It follows Star Trek: Picard, which just returned for season 2, as well as two new animated shows, a comedy for adults and a series for kids.
Some new characters will join old favorites in the mix of "Strange New Worlds". The new version of Nurse Christine Chapel will be portrayed by Jess Bush, while the old version of Babs Olusanmok will be portrayed by Celia Rose Gooding.
We will also meet Hemmer, an Andorian, as well as the lieutenants, who are related to Khan Noonien Singh.
Paramount Plus will show Star Trek: Strange New Worlds on TV screens on May 5.
When the second season of Star Trek: Discovery ended in April of this year, Mount's Captain Pike was left behind on the Enterprise along with co-stars Rebecca Romijn and Ethan Peck.
The premiere chapter of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds was adapted from a story written by Akiva Goldsman. Goldsman will be the director for the first episode, while Henry Alonso Myers will be co-showrunner. CBS Studios, Secret Hideout, and Roddenberry Entertainment produced the series.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will debut on Paramount Plus on May 5.
