In the Los Angeles Lakers 140-111 loss to the Phoenix Suns, James became the first player in league history to reach the 10,000 point, rebound and assist mark.
James said after finishing with 31 points, 7 rebound and 6 assists against the Suns that he has modeled his game after being able to score, rebound and assist.
James set the mark by passing the ball to Anthony for a 3-pointer early in the second quarter, notching his second assist of the game and 10,000th of his career.
He said that he gets lost for words when things like this happen to him because of where he comes from.
James has 36,224 career points, 10,004 assists, and 10,150 rebound. If he plays on his sore left knee, he could pass Karl Malone for the second spot on the all-time scoring list.
He walked out of Footprint Center with the game ball tucked under his arm and a black magic marker on it.
James said that his teammates supported him after the game.
It was disappointing that the accomplishment came during a loss in a losing season.
He said that it was an honor to be a part of this league and that he tried to take the victories that happened throughout the course of a long marathon.
