In an interview with The Arizona Republic on Saturday, Sayra Nevarez said that everything stops and that she doesn't feel like anything is real.

The Arizona State University freshman scaled a short wall at his hotel that he didn't realize had a 20-foot drop on the other side. Both of his parents agreed that changes need to be made in light of his death.

Sayra Nevarez said that this can't happen to anyone else.

By Saturday afternoon, more than $100,000 had been raised for the family. She said it has been very touching to see how much her son has touched the lives of others.

Matias said they have heard a lot of stories about how kind and respectful their son was. He told The Republic that other parents viewed him as one of their own children, and that it made them proud to know how much of a positive difference he made in his 18 years.

Sayra said her emotions on Saturday were just as raw as they were on Monday, but that she was thrilled that everyone would get to see a little piece of him.

She said that their son had big plans for his life and a bright future. He was interested in helping younger people understand finance.

She said his impact will live on even though his life was cut short.

She said that they will miss him until they see him again.

'Aiden lived his life to the fullest'

Jack Fitzgerald was in Mexico. They spent the day walking on the beach and exploring the city after landing.

Fitzgerald told The Republic that they were at a restaurant out of nowhere and that Nevarez put his arm around him and said he loved him.

Fitzgerald said that it was a special moment.

At 2 a.m., the taxi driver dropped off the man at his hotel. He got a text a few hours later telling him his best friend was gone.

Fitzgerald said that it was the worst time of his life.

On the first day of seventh grade, Fitzgerald and Nevarez met. They instantly clicked and became friends, he said.

They went on many trips together, including a recent weekend trip to San Diego. Fitzgerald said it would be hard to wake up each morning and not see her.

He described his friend as someone who made others feel good to be around, a person with the biggest smile, and a cheerful spirit.

He said he would have never imagined that something like this could happen, but that it highlights the importance of living life in a way that makes each moment a future memory.

Fitzgerald said that he would have a good life if he could be as good of a man as he was.

The pair formed a deep bond over the years, going out for regular lunches at the burrito joint and hanging out with their friends.

Brown told The Republic that he was in shock after hearing about the death.

A group of around 15 of Nevarez's friends met up that evening to offer hugs, support and emotional reminiscing about their fondest memories. Brown said that every person had a funny story to tell, which helped them through their grief.

He never took it for granted, and that is a big lesson for me. You shouldn't take your life for granted, and you should be so grateful for what you have.

He said it was incredible to see the support from both those who knew and those who didn't.

I know that he would never want us to be sad over this, and I think that is what he is telling me.

The incident was not within the jurisdiction of the school because it did not happen on the campus or during an educational activity.
