Tom Brady retired for 40 days.

Brady said on Sunday that he was returning to the Buccaneers for his 23rd season. The seven-time Super Bowl champion announced his decision on social media.

Brady wrote that he has realized his place is still on the field and not in the stands. It is not now. I love my teammates and my family. They make it possible. I'm coming back for my 23rd season.

Brady led the Buccaneers to a Super Bowl title after the 2020 season. He and Bill Belichick won six Super Bowls together.

The Brady led the league in yards passing, touchdown, completions, attempts and attempts, but the Buccaneers lost to the Rams in the divisional round.
