The popular app is being discontinued. The project will be shut down in the next few days, with download links removed. The app will continue to work for anyone who has it installed on their phone, but it is likely to stop working at some point soon. The owners say they had to stop the project due to legal reasons.

It is possible to block all video ads on YouTube without a Premium subscription with the third-party app, Vanced. There is a true black theme and customizations not offered in the official YouTube forANDROID app.

Vanced has been discontinued. In the coming days, the download links on the website will be taken down. We know this is not something you wanted to hear but it's something we need to do. Thank you all for supporting us over the years.

It's not clear whether or not the discontinuation of Vanced was a result of the actions of the internet giant. After forcing two popular music bots offline last year, YouTube started testing ad-supported integration into Discord just weeks later. The popular Groovy and Rythm music bots were able to listen to music with other people on the service.

The Telegram message from the owners says thatced has been discontinued.

“DISCONTINUATION OF THE VANCED PROJECT

Vanced has been discontinued. In the coming days, the download links will be taken down. The Discord server, Telegram chat and subreddit will stay for the time being. We know this is not something you wanted to hear, but it’s something we had to do. We want to thank you all for the support over the years.

Edit (1): The existing version will continue to work.

Edit (2): It was done due to legal reasons.”
