As Russia continues to cause chaos in eastern Europe, the Pentagon remained steadfast in its commitment to NATO.
The Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby said that the US would maintain its commitment to its NATO allies, even though he said that US troops wouldn't fight in Ukraine.
Kirby said on ABC News that an armed attack against one is considered an armed attack against all.
Russian forces attacked a military base in western Ukraine near the Polish border on Sunday, killing at least 35 people.
Poland is a NATO member and sits 15 miles from the town of Yavoriv.
Kirby said on Sunday that the US would not be involved in combat in Ukraine because it would lead to war with Russia.
Kirby said that they continue to flow and to move to make sure that they can defend every inch of NATO territory.

The US sent two batteries to Poland. On the same day, the Department of Defense rejected an offer from Poland to send fighter jets to a US air base in Germany, where they could be used against Russian forces. Kirby said on Tuesday that it was up to Polish officials if they wanted to send their own jets.
A member of Poland's parliament told John Haltiwanger that Russia may go further if we don't stop the invasion in Ukraine.
The war that Putin has unleashed on Ukraine is also a possibility, according to the Polish Prime Minister.
