According to Mother Jones, the Kremlin ordered Russian state media to feature Tucker Carlson as much as possible.
Mother Jones reported that a leaked war memo told Russian media that it was essential to use more Carlson segments in their coverage because of his positions on the war in Ukraine.
Carlson harshly criticizes the actions of the United States and NATO, as well as their negative role in unleashing the conflict in Ukraine, according to the media outlet.
He is critical of the behavior of the leadership of the Western countries and NATO towards the Russian Federation.
Mother Jones received a document from a Russian state media contributor. The Department of Information and Telecommunications Support is a Russian government agency, according to the media outlet.
Carlson was the only Western journalist mentioned in the document, according to Mother Jones.
Newsweek reported that clips of Carlson are common on Russian TV, which depicts him as sympathetic to Putin. His sympathetic coverage of Russia led to state TV re-broadcasting his show with Russian subtitles.
Mia Jankowicz reported that Carlson echoed many of Putin's talking points during a Fox News segment. He posed a question to viewers, "Why do Democrats want you to hate Putin?"
He said that Putin is to blame after the invasion. The Washington Post reported that Carlson embraced Russian misinformation on Wednesday, repeating a line from the Russian foreign ministry.
Carlson was accused of plagiarism by an ABC News correspondent, who said that the Fox News host copied him.
