Live creators will be able to appoint moderators during their streams. Mods will be able to report comments, remove viewers from the stream, and turn off comments for a specific viewer.

Streamers + Mods = Dynamic Duo ❤️

We’re launching Live Moderator on Instagram Live, where creators can assign a mod and give them the power to:

✅ Report comments

✅ Remove viewers from Live

The three dots in the comment bar can be used to assign a moderator. They can use the search bar or a list of suggested accounts to find a moderator.

It comes as a bit of a shock that the social network has only just begun to support moderation for its streams. Moderation is a staple on other livestreaming platforms, where comments can quickly get ugly. Even Facebook gives users the ability to add mod to their streams and also add tools to remove troll.

The availability of chat moderators should make the streaming experience a lot more pleasant for creators.
