A British artist used his dog's feces to paint a portrait of Putin. He says he has received offers as high as $3,900 for the original artwork.

Dominic Murphy told Insider that he came up with the idea to paint a portrait of Putin out of poop after feeling like he needed to raise money for refugees of the Ukraine-Russia conflict.

Murphy told Insider that he started it because of anger and that it did the trick.

Murphy, who is based in Welwyn Garden City in the UK, said painting dark stuff like President Putin out of poop is a left-field subject for him.

He said that it was not his usual style and that he had gotten a lot of information from his Polish friend. It was that feeling of being unable to do anything that made it so frustrating.

Murphy said he did not have to look any further than the droppings left by his dog in the garden to find the unique materials for the painting.

Murphy said that he thought the worst thing he could use as paint was poo.

The experience of making the painting was not very pleasant, but Murphy wore a mask and mixed the feces with mud and PVA Glue to make the process more enjoyable.

He said that he varnished it about 30 times to make it smell better. The portrait of President Putin was created by the artist.

Murphy said he would travel to Ukraine to help the military resist the Russian invasion in person if he was 20 years younger.

He said he has been able to sell around eight prints per day so far, and the prints are currently priced at around $42. Murphy said on his website that he would donate a minimum of 20 dollars to the charity.

Murphy sold the original piece for around $196 at his local market, but since then he has gotten offers as high as $3,940 for it.

I wish I hadn't but I don't want to make a profit out of misery.
