The dynamics of the game between Kansas and West Virginia changed midway through the first half with the ejection of the coach.

The Jayhawks were up 19-4 in the Big 12 Conference tournament quarterfinals when one of their players received a technical foul. The consequential second was received moments later as the situation continued. Bill Self expressed disappointment that Bob Huggins wasn't there to coach the entire game.

He wasn't condemning how Huggins acted or the decision to call technicals on him. A player from West Virginia appeared to express his displeasure with the way the game was being played. After the Jayhawks won, Self said that no one wanted to see the ejection.

Self said that it was not a break that they wanted.

The Ochai Agbaji that led Kansas past West Virginia in the Big 12 tournament can do great things in March.

He said after the game that he was standing up for his guys. Sean said that was what Huggins was doing. When asked if he was surprised by the second technical, he said he was not.

The Jayhawks made six-straight free throws after the sequence of technicals. Kansas went on to lead by 22 points at halftime and win by 24. He didn't like it and doesn't remember being a part of that before.

During his press conference, Self was asked if he would talk about it at some point in the future.

After Self finished speaking with reporters, he and Huggins had a conversation.
