Fletcher Cox Trade Rumors: Steelers, Bills, Chargers Interested in Eagles Star

According to Boardroom's Jordan Schultz, the Philadelphia Eagles are getting a lot of interest in veteran defensive tackle Fletcher Cox.

The return would have to be substantial since the Eagles would have a dead-cap charge.

Ian Rapoport reported Friday that the Eagles were getting calls about Cox, who was nearly traded last year.

Cox signed a six-year, $102 million deal in June of 2016 Spotrac says he has a cap hit of $14.9 million.

Since being selected 12th overall in the 2012 NFL draft, the 31-year-old has been a staple in Philly's defense. He has earned six Pro Bowl selections and one All-Pro selection in 10 seasons and helped the Eagles win a Super Bowl.

Cox has appeared in at least 14 games in every season over the course of his career, making him one of the most durable defensive tackles in the NFL.

The Eagles were looking for at least a third-round pick at the time that the Steelers tried to acquire Cox. Adding Cox would make the Pittsburgh defense one of the best in the league with players such as T.J. Watt and Minkah Fitzpatrick set to return.

Cox would be a nice addition to the Bills defense, along with Star Lotulelei, Vernon Butler, Ed Oliver and HarrisonPhillips. The same could be said for the Bolts, who have a defensive line that includes Christian Covington, Joe Gaziano and Justin Jones.
