Jake Paul says he would be willing to fight in the UFC against either of the two guys.

The boxer said in a statement that he would sign a one-fight UFC contract to compete against either McGregor or Masvidal in MMA with a wager on the line. The idea was first mentioned by Paul on Saturday morning.

Dana - Since you like me now, how about a 1 fight UFC deal to fight Conor. If I win, you agree to my UFC fighter pay and healthcare proposal. If I lose I donate my entire purse to all UFC fighters who make less than $50K a fight and never mention UFC again

Deal?

If he wins, Paul wants the UFC to give fighters full health care and 50% of company revenue. If Paul loses, he will donate his entire purse to UFC fighters who make less than $50,000 per fight.

The UFC fighter pay was put at 18% to 20% of company revenue by documents cited in the antitrust lawsuit.

Paul said that he would fight Masvidal if he could, but that he wanted to fight Conor. I would like to train for six months.

It would be unusual for the UFC to respond to a pitch from Paul. Dana White said in an interview that he wouldn't close the door on Paul one day fighting in the UFC.

Paul's team said they are serious about the proposal. Marvin Miller, the Major League Baseball Players Association executive who made the baseball players union one of the strongest unions in the United States, was referenced by Paul in his statement. UFC fighters are independent contractors.

Paul said that this is bigger than him.

Paul said he wanted a purse from the UFC that was similar to what CM Punk or Brock Lesnar were paid. Punk made $1 million per fight, while the guaranteed purse for his last fight was $2.5 million.

Paul said it would be less than what he makes in boxing. Paul beat former UFC fighters Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley twice in the same year.

If I lose, I will donate my earnings from the fight to fighters who make less than $50K per fight, with a higher share going to athletes who have been in the UFC longer.

Paul wants the UFC to commit to a five-year plan that would gradually give fighters 50% of revenue, plus year-round health care, and benefits that would continue after a fighter's UFC career.

Paul said there were no winners in the proposal. Dana will change the future of UFC fighters if I win. If I lose there will be a one-time bonus to a lot of fighters, MMA doesn't have to hear from me again, and if you win again, you can shut up Jake Paul.

Paul has never competed in an MMA match. The level of his competition has been criticized as he builds a lucrative career in boxing. He is well known among a younger demographic. Paul helped promote the first-ever women's boxing main event at Madison Square Garden, which resulted in a sellout.

Serrano is represented by Most Valuable Promotions, a company co-founded by Paul and his business partner and former UFC chief financial officer. There is little doubt that a one-fight deal in the UFC would be a monstrous moneymaker for all involved.

While the UFC business has changed for the better since my employment there six years ago, I truly believe a UFC fight between Conor and Jake would be the biggest MMA event in history.

Some in the MMA community are in agreement with Paul about helping fighters. Regardless of Paul being sincere, some fighters, coaches and managers believe it is a positive thing. Others think the social media star is self-serving and won't lead anywhere.

The spotlight he is shining on MMA-related issues is only worth the attention he gives to it. Not even a small amount.
