Jon Morosi of MLB Network and Fox Sports reports that the Los Angeles Dodgers made a strong push for free-agent first baseman Freddie Freeman with a multiyear contract on Friday.

Morosi said that talks between the Dodgers and the first baseman were intensifying and that the sides remained in contact on a deal that would bring him back to his home state.

Brendan Kuty of NJ Advance Media reported that the New York Yankees are interested in him.

The Atlanta Braves have a player who has spent the first 12 years of his career there, and he has five All-Star Games and the 2020 National League Most Valuable Player award.

Morosi added some more context on the Dodgers potential signing of Freeman, specifically in regards to the addition of the universal designated hitter rule.
