Biyombo is giving back to his home country.

In a video released by his charity foundation, Biyombo announced he is donating his entire NBA salary for the next two years to build a hospital in the Congo to honor his father.

Biyombo has been involved in charitable work throughout his NBA career. He donated $1 million in medical supplies to his home country in April 2020 to help fight COVID-19.

Biyombo told USA Today at the time that the population is 70% and that it is not possible to tell people to stay at home. They depend on daily pay. How is it that I want you to stay at home? That is the biggest fear for me.

The donations included 10,000 medical masks, 780 hazmat suits and medical beds.

Biyombo was included on Time's list of Next Generation Leaders.

Biyombo has used his own money and funds raised through the Biyombo Foundation to help build schools and sports facilities, provide scholarships and improve health care in the country.

Biyombo didn't sign with a team before the start of the season because he was grieving the death of his father, who died in August.

Biyombo talked about his relationship with his father.

He said that his dad was everything to him. Sometimes it was 4 a.m. in the Congo. He was always checking on my game.

Biyombo signed a 10-day hardship contract with the Suns. He received a one-year contract with the team that was worth more than $1 million.

Biyombo has played in the NBA for 11 years.
