The company is adding a temporary fuel surcharge to help drivers pay for high gas prices.
The plan is for the surcharge to be in place for the next 60 days, so that drivers will be able to pay it. Winship cautions that we will continue to monitor gas prices and may make additional changes.
In her post, Winship listed some of the benefits of electric vehicles, including higher earnings for drivers who use battery EV, a $6,000 discount off a Nissan Leaf, and discounts on some vehicle charging. The sting of higher gas prices may not be fully mitigated by a fuel surcharge and EV benefits. EV are still out of reach for many due to supply chain constraints, low inventory, and expensive prices. Gas prices could stay high for a while because of a number of reasons.
