According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Philadelphia Eagles are re-signing veteran center Jason Kelce to a one-year, $14 million contract, which will make him the highest-paid player at his position.

Kelce said on Thursday that he would be returning to the team in 2022.

Kelce is a five-time Pro Bowler, four-time first-team All-Pro and a champion with the Eagles. He was both a Pro Bowler and first-team All-Pro in the same year.

Kelce was graded as the third best center in the league by Pro Football Focus.

The Eagles and their head coach will be happy to have Kelce back. Kelce received a keg of beer that he was drinking from in his announcement video.

During Jason Kelce's guest hosting appearance today, Nick Sirianni called in as "Nick from South Philly" and tried to persuade Kelce to come back. 😅 pic.twitter.com/5Eo6OoR1PM

He is an unbelievable leader and I have told him how much I want him back. If you don't know him personally, everything you hear about him is false. He is a great leader and a great player. He is the leader of this team. He is so smart that he makes us go as a team.

His teammates agree.

When I have a question about the offense, I go to Jason Kelce, according to wideout DeVonta Smith. Kelce is what makes this team go.

The Eagles exceeded expectations last season and reached the playoffs, so the return of Kelce is huge news. Building upon that success will be easier with Kelce back.
