What you need to know for Friday night's NBA slate

By Jim and Kyle.

Kristaps Porzingis isn't priced as a top 10 center across the industry tonight and he's up against a Lakers team that has been out-rebounded in five of its past six games. In his two games back on the floor, Porzingis has converted 15 of 26 shots with three blocked shots. The potential reward at this reduced price is worth considering.

Jose Alvarado is available in over 99% of leagues, but with the Pelicans missing both Brandon Ingram (hamstring) andCJ McCollum (health and safety protocols), there's some serious. Alvarado is a nice add and keep option down the stretch of the fantasy regular season.

The Knicks will be without several players for tonight&s game against Memphis. Keep an eye on Alec Burks. In his past four games, Burks has played at least 35 minutes in three of them and had 25 combined rebound and dimes. He has become a target for shooting at least three 3-pointers in three of the past four games and for grabbing at least seven Rebounding props over the past seven games.

The Pistons have ruled out a player due to injury. Foul trouble limited him against Chicago earlier this week, but he was quiet against it. The path to a double-double appears to be doable, as he is likely to start and top 30 minutes against a Boston team that ranks 21st in rebound percentage over the past 10 games.

With Caris LeVert and Jarrett Allen out for Cleveland's game against the Heat this evening, Evan Mobley is in a good spot to hit rebound props, while Darius Garland has surpassed his assist prop. In a win over Miami earlier this season, Kevin Love scored 22 points with nine assists and nine boards, and was 70% available for waivers.

Consider some waivers going into the weekend. In the last few games, Minnesota's Malik Beasley has posted incredible shooting volume, including a franchise record 11 3-pointers last time out. Oklahoma City's Isaiah Roby has been busy collecting steals and posting respectable scoring results. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is in a great spot to produce against his former team tonight, as is Kyle Kuzma, who is in a great spot to produce.

Game of the Night

Cleveland Cavaliers at Miami Heat, 8:00 p.m. ET

The line has a heat.

Moneyline: Heat (-240), Cavaliers (+195)

Total: 209.5 points

BPI Projected Total: 210.5 points

BPI Win%: Heat (76%)

Markieff Morris, Caris LeVert, and Jarrett Allen have been ruled out.

Is it possible to ask: Jimmy Butler, Caleb Martin.

Doug Kezirian andAnita Marks give you their top plays for the weekend. Listen!

After failing to cover any of their six games prior, the Cavaliers have covered three straight games. Cleveland has covered three of the past four games in which over tickets have come through.

Fantasy Streamer: Isiah Okoro. With LeVert out of the lineup, Okoro's usage rate increased. In the last three games, Okoro has averaged over 11 points per game, 3.0 points per game, and 2.0 points per game. He's available in 96.4% of leagues and someone to consider in deeper formats.

The best bet was over 209.5 points. Cleveland is more vulnerable to higher scoring games without Jarrett Allen, the anchor of the defense. The teams have trended in that direction over the last few games, with the Cavs and their opponents going over 209.5 points in four of their last five games. The Heat and their opponents went over in seven of their last nine.

Breaking down the rest of the slate

Minnesota Timberwolves at Orlando Magic, 7:00 p.m. ET

The line is for the Timberwolves.

Moneyline: Timberwolves (-310), Magic (+245)

Total: 233 points

BPI Projected Total: 223.5 points

BPI Win%: Timberwolves (69.6%)

None of the key players were ruled out.

Questionable are Anthony Edwards, Jarred Commodore, Jordan McLaughlin, and Taurean Prince.

Not one. Not two. After blowing out the Thunder on Wednesday night, the Wolves have now six straight covers.

The best bet was over 233 points. We should see a lot of points from both teams in Orlando because the Wolves are playing away from home. The Wolves have averaged 244.3 combined points and gone over 233 points in 13 of their 16 road games over the past year.

LA Clippers at Atlanta Hawks, 7:30 p.m. ET

The Hawks are on the line.

Moneyline: Hawks (-240), Clippers (+195)

Total: 228.5 points

BPI Projected Total: 219.5 points

BPI Win%: Hawks (72%)

The key players were ruled out.

The past six road games have gone under the total.

Fantasy Streamer is Luke Kennard. The Clippers ran an eight man rotation. With Covington out again on Friday, Kennard should see a lot of minutes. He has averaged 18.0 points, 6.0 rebound and 3.0 assists per 40 minutes this season.

Detroit Pistons at Boston Celtics, 7:30 p.m. ET

Line: Celtics.

Moneyline: Celtics (-1500), Pistons (+850)

Total: 216 points

BPI Projected Total: 215 points

BPI Win%: Celtics (91.6%)

Key players were ruled out.

The Celtics are working on a four game winning streak, their longest run since a five game winning streak in November.

Fantasy Streamer is Cory Joseph. Joseph can see additional minutes if he is available. Joseph is an excellent streamer in deeper formats and has averaged 13.0 points, 4.1 rebound and 6.0 assists per 40 minutes this season.

The Pistons are the best bet. The recent strong play by the Pistons has been largely under the radar. In their last nine games, they are 7-1 against the spread, including wins over the Hawks, Raptors, Hornets, and the Celtics, last time they played in Boston. I understand that the Celtics are hot, but 14 is a lot of points for a team that has been as hot as the Pistons have been.

Dallas Mavericks at Houston Rockets, 8:00 p.m. ET

The line is Mavericks.

Moneyline: Mavericks (-630), Rockets (+450)

Total: 225.5 points

BPI Projected Total: 224.5 points

BPI Win%: Mavericks (72.7%)

None of the key players were ruled out.

Dennis Schroder, Sean Tate, and Christian Wood are questionable.

The Mavericks lost to the Knicks by 30 as a 9-point favorite. Since the beginning of February, they have not failed to cover any games.

New York Knicks at Memphis Grizzlies, 8:00 p.m. ET

The line is for the Grizzlies.

Moneyline: Grizzlies (-450), Knicks (+340)

Total: 230.5 points

BPI Projected Total: 217.5 points

BPI Win%: Grizzlies (73.1%)

Key players were ruled out.

It's doubtful: Dillon Brooks.

The Knicks have covered each of their past four games after going 1-10 against the spread in their previous 11.

Charlotte Hornets at New Orleans Pelicans, 8:00 p.m. ET

The Hornets are on the line.

Moneyline: Hornets (-130), Pelicans (+110)

Total: 231.5 points

BPI Projected Total: 224.5 points

BPI Win%: Pelicans (58.9%)

Key players ruled out: Brandon

Under trends are strong for the Hornets, who are 11-6) in their past 17 games, and unders are 5-2 in the past seven New Orleans games.

The best bet is over 34.5 points by Valanciunas. Valanciunas should see an increase in his usage against a Hornets team that has given up a lot of points to centers. Over the past four games, he has averaged 16.0PPG and 9.3RPG.

The Hornets are the best bet. After the trade that brought inCJ McCollum, the pelicans were froggy. They don't have the strength to stay at that level with both Ingram and McCollum out. In the last two games without him, the Pelicans lost by six at home to the Magic and by 21 points at FedEx Forum. The Hornets are still competing for the playoffs in the East and should control this game.

Utah Jazz at San Antonio Spurs, 8:30 p.m. ET

The line is Jazz.

Moneyline: Jazz (-320), Spurs (+250)

Total: 230.5 points

BPI Projected Total: 226.5 points

BPI Win%: Jazz (62.3%)

Key players are not available.

Four of the last five Utah games and four of the last five San Antonio games have been won by under tickets.

Royce O' Neale is a Fantasy Streamer. Bojan was out due to a leg injury and O& Neale has seen more minutes and field goal attempts. Over the last eight games, he has averaged 9.5 points per game, 5.6 points per game, 2.5 points per game, and 1.0 point per game, while the Spurs have allowed opponents tomass a ton of offensive rebound.

Toronto Raptors at Phoenix Suns, 9:00 p.m. ET

The Suns are on the line.

Moneyline: Suns (-260), Raptors (+210)

Total: 221.5 points

BPI Projected Total: 216 points

BPI Win%: Suns (63.4%)

Key players ruled out.

Four of the last five Utah games and four of the last five San Antonio games have been under tickets.

With Johnson out due to a quad injury, it's a good time to streamer Jae Crowder. Over the past six games, he's averaged 13 points per game, 6.0 points per game, 3.0 assists per game, and 2.0 points per game, and the Raptors allow opponents to shoot a high field goal percentage.

Washington Wizards at Los Angeles Lakers, 10:30 p.m. ET

The line is Lakers (-4).

Moneyline: Lakers (-195), Wizards (+165)

Total: 228 points

BPI Projected Total: 228 points

BPI Win%: Lakers (52.7%)

None of the key players were ruled out.

Questionable: Talen Horton-Tucker.

Probable: Malik Monk.

In the past four Laker games, three of the past four Wizard games have gone over the total.

Kristaps Porzingis is the best bet. The Knicks will play the Lakers tonight, but will rest Saturday. He should not have his minutes capped against a Los Angeles team that is 17th in points allowed per 100 possessions. In the two games he has played with the Wizards, Porzingis has averaged 22.0 points, 3.0 rebound and 1.5 assists.
