I am not a sweet breakfast person. My breakfast is usually a fried egg on a corn tortilla. An egg over leftovers. Eggs with hot sauce. You see the picture.

Every now and again, I could see myself enjoying a breakfast of this cookie recipe from nourishedbynic. It has racked up nearly 10 million views.

It is easy to make, pretty healthy, and not overly sweet like a real cookie. You need to know what to do to make it.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup oats.

  • A banana is mashed.

  • Baking powder is used for baking.

  • 1/2 scoop of powder.

  • 1 spoon of coconut oil.

  • A small amount of milk of your choice.

  • To taste cinnamon.

  • To taste chocolate chips.

Directions

  1. The chocolate chips should be mixed in a large mixing bowl.

  2. Put a piece of paper in the basket of your air fryer that is larger than the cookie you want.

  3. Put the dough into a large ball and smash it down on the paper. It should be about half an inch thick.

  4. The cookie should be topped with chocolate chips.

  5. For 10 minutes, you can air fry. Enjoy!

How easy is it to steal from a living chef? The process for making cookies was very easy. I think I could have made this breakfast in 13 minutes if I had slowed down for filming and photos. A bunch of stuff is shaped into a puck and air fry. Simple.

The only real tip I have about the beginning of the cooking process is the mashed banana. In the TikTok, she puts a banana in the big bowl with everything else. I think it helped ensure the banana spread throughout the cookie instead of being mashed, because I did this step separately. All my ingredients were in the bowl.

I put the parchment in the air fryer after cutting it to size. I rolled my dough into a cookie shape on the parchment. It looked like this when I topped it with chocolate chips. Brain science and rocket surgery are not related.

In the TikTok comments, Addison suggested air frying for 10 minutes. The cookie turned out fine, but the exterior was a bit charred. If you have an air fryer, you might want to cook your cookie for about eight minutes instead of 10. My final product was here.

The decision? It is good. A good, quick breakfast is not mind-blowing. It tasted like oats in a cookie. And you know why? The oats were baked in a cookie shape.

That is not a bad thing. The interior of the cookie was soft and delicious. There was no need for added sugars from the banana and the powder. It was a nice midday snack and I split the cookie with my wife.

I still eat an egg-based breakfast. You can't change from sweet to savory overnight. There is nothing like a fried egg on a corn tortilla. Never gets old. I could see this cookie in my future if I got the urge to mix things up.
